I’ve always been fascinated by the Amazon,
the eco system of tropical South America
and the diversity of plants and fishes that live there.

My main passion is Dwarf Cichlids. I love creating habitats for them where I can keep them in a community setting along side other compatible small fish species.

I caught the Rainbowfish bug from my father and enjoy breeding some of the smaller varieties. I also continue experimenting with Livebearers, fun fish I’ve loved keeping since I was a kid.

I love keeping my fish in naturalistic habitats and got heavily into planted tanks some 20 years ago and the art of aqua-scaping. Although not a professional aqua-scaper, my scapes usually serve many purposes and are well planned and thought out to accommodate the fish I want to house.

2007: Amazon Angelfish

The largest aquarium I ever setup was 250L which was a custom built 4ft tank, deeper and wider than your standard. I used this as a wild Angelfish tank which was awesome.

Housing 3 pairs of Angels after starting with just 2 fish about the size of a 5 cent coin. I also had tetras, bristlenose, cories etc. to make them feel at home. I moved around a lot over the years so tanks come and go. This one has gone unfortunately.

The photos above were taken by my friend Andrew Gillard with his amazing camera and skills. The below photos were taken by me at various stages.
